Work life balance
What does work life balance look like to you? She asked me evenly, challenging me to inject life into the interview. My future boss was a mysterious woman with a tough shell seated at the top of the corporate ladder - who turned out to be a real teddy bear.
For a split second though, my mind churned. First there's Summer, and then there's BLUISH. Assuming long hours and dedication are expected, recalling my recruiter and her warnings: They're looking for performers! They're looking for energy! How should I respond to the mystery of work life balance when employment benefits are designed to have me believe - as long as they pay for my running shoes and my gym membership, work and life are in harmony.
So I told her: For me, balance isn't about splitting my time, it's about my peace of mind.
