Made with care

We place a lot of care in every tutu that we make, through creativity, thoughtfulness, and genuine respect for the people who make them. We’re constantly making changes, trying to do better. Scroll down and take a deeper look into the things that we’re doing today.

  • Ling

    Team Overseas

Our basic tutu is constructed by Ling’s female owned business in Dongguan, China.

We’re all human

We’re run by a team of 5 women & mothers. At Bluish, we each get to do what we’re good at, and we lean on each other to get it done. We treat each other with respect, as friends do. Fair wages and good working conditions are necessary fundamentals. Our mantra is simple: we run our business with an honest human approach.

Every new product we make follows a path of discovery. First imagined, then birthed by trial and error, and then refined by hand over and over again throughout its life. We don’t follow rigid seasonal changes and launches. We continuously discover and rediscover simple basics, motifs, and timeless favourites.

Ling’s team makes the basic tutu. Yes, she lives in China. Yes, she is Chinese. Her business is female owned and operated mostly by females. She is strong, independent, a successful entrepreneur, and a dear friend of ours. Most of our products are collaborative efforts between Ling’s team in China and our local team in Canada.

“We’re a small business that relies on other small businesses to stay alive. We keep each other going by exchanging respect, compassion, and profit.”

  • Our NEVER List

Here are 3 things we don’t do:

  • Never Glue

We don’t use glue. We always stitch and sew, so it lasts.

  • Never Glitter

We don’t use glitter. We love sparkly, but not if it falls off.

  • Never Boring

We don’t copy. We create, because that’s the fun part.
