Sizing: 1-3T measures approximately 10.5 inches long and the waist stretches from about 15 inches to 24 inches. It typically starts to fit when the child can sit independently, around 6 months. 3-5T measures approximately 12.5 inches long and the waist stretches from about 16 inches to 26 inches. 5-7Y measures approximately 14.5 inches long and the waist stretches from about 17 inches to 28 inches. If your child is at the overlap age, go for the bigger size unless you prefer a shorter tutu (which is really cute!).

The basic skirt was made by Amanda’s family owned business in China in a simple 3 storey building in Dongguan, Guangzhou. The bottom floor was where the fabric was cut, the middle floor was where the tutu was sewn, and the top floor was where the family rested. In this building, Amanda’s family and a few seasoned seamstresses constructed the basic skirt. Amanda and Sarah are real friends, they’re both moms of two and share heritage ties to Guangzhou, China.

I started Bluish when Summer was about a year old. At the time, she was a baby and I was into all the frilly things for her. And then I blinked and now she’s 7 years old. I wanted to make something timeless, something that would grow with the both of us. And that was why I chose this dotted fabric in vintage lace style. The touch and make of this fabric, the way that it weighs just a little heavier and drapes a little bit more, is just right.
