Here are the instructions to make your own dumpling.
Prepare:
Print the image below on letter size paper and cut out the dumpling along the solid line. Trace the dumpling on any light coloured fabric and cut out the shape twice, so that you have two fabric cut outs.
Make: (refer to hand drawn illustration below)
Stack the two fabric cut outs on top of each other and stitch along the curved sides. Leave the top open.
Fill the semi closed fabric dumpling with stuffing. It can be polyester, filling from an old stuffy, or leftover fabric. As long it gives the dumpling some shape and bounce — it’s good!
Stitch along the top in a straight line, and then pull the thread to cinch. Tie a knot and trim extra thread.
Finish:
The sample we made has a stitched on face. But to keep things simple with your little one — use a marker and draw on a face. Make sure to give your dumpling rosy cheeks!
